演讲者简介: THEO D’HAEN is Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Leuven (Louvain) in Belgium. He was a Visiting Professor at the Sorbonne III (2004), Harvard (2007), and Vienna (2011), and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow at Harvard (2010). He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (1981) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Recent book-length publications in English include:The Routledge Concise History of World Literature(2012),The Routledge Companion to World Literature(2012, co-edited with David Damrosch and Djelal Kadir),The Routledge Reader in World Literature(co-edited with César Domínguez and Mads Rosendahl Thomsen),Literature for Europe?(2009),International Don Quixote(2009),Cultural Identity and Postmodern Writing (2006),How Far is America From Here?(2005),Configuring Romanticism(2003), andContemporary American Crime Writing(2001). In all, he has published some 50 books, as author, co-author, editor, or co-editor, and some 150 articles, in English, Dutch, and several other languages. He serves as editor of various scholarly series, and since 1 January 2008 has been editor-in-chief of the European Review (CUP), the journal of the Academia Europaea. He is or has been advisory editor to several journals in the fields of Comparative Literature, English and American Literature, and Dutch Literature. He has served on the boards of, and organized world congresses for, the International Comparative Literature Association, the International American Studies Association, and the Academia Europaea. He served as President of FILLM (2008-2011).
