演讲者简介:James Phelan is Distinguished University Professor of English at the Ohio State University. A founding member of “Project Narrative” at Ohio State, he is the author of many books in narrative theory, includingLiving to Tell about It(2005), winner of the Perkins Prize from the International Society for theStudy of Narrative, Experiencing Fiction(2007), andReading the American Novel, 1920-2010(forthcoming 2013). He has collaborated with Peter J. Rabinowitz, David Herman, Brian Richardson, and Robyn Warhol on the recently releasedNarrative Theory: Core Concepts and Critical Debates(2012). Professor Phelan is also the editor ofNarrative,the journal of the International Society for the Study of Narrative, and co-editor of the Ohio State University Press Series onThe Theory and Interpretation of Narrative. His Narrative asRhetoric and the Blackwell Companion to Narrative Theory(co-edited with Peter J. Rabinowitz) have been translated into Chinese.
